Disabilities

WHS provides services to children with disabilities. The children participate in all activities to the extent of their abilities. Wilmington Head Start, Inc. and the school districts have been working together to serve children with special needs in the city and we would like to let you know about this partnership. The children can attend a WHS preschool program for four and a half hours a day, five days a week and receive services at the Head Start classroom from a specialist or attend a school district program the other half of the day as determined by their IEP. Any special equipment required for the child is provided, as well as any training the staff may need to welcome the child to the classroom. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Edward Isabell, Disabilities and Health Specialist  at (302) 691-3584 Ext. 15, or email eisabell@wilmheadstart.org or fax (302) 764-3155.
